Fished Monday, Wednesday and today. Trolled, lived lined, cut bait, jigged.
Bay bridge, Podickory, inside the Magothy, Pooles island, Tolchester, Rockhall.
Not one keeper Rock 😂
Could not keep the cut bait in the water long enough for anything to bite except huge skate. Caught them on cut bait for cats and even trolling.
Marked huge numbers of fish suspended out from Pooles island down past Tolchester. I assumed they were Rock because they were medium and large and we didn’t hook skate up north, but tight lipped.
No trouble picked away at spot in 14-16 ft water south of the bridge but live lining only produced sub legal fish at bridge pilings.
There seems to be a massive amount of skate this year.
It must be rather tough for a lot because numerous charter boats from far away are going to the bridge to catch little to nothing. I did not see a keeper boated all 3 days. 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Not much sign of life out there but from kayaker and other reports I think they are STILL way up in the rivers....
Still makes me sick to think what we gave up with mismanagement though.
The Rock are tough right now. The charters from south fishing the bridge tells how tough.

Awful to hear the cownose rays ( skate ) are here already - hate those things when fishing , double when diving.

I did hear of the May worm hatch - that can also make for tough bite.

Holy **** that sucks
Coming home from work today. There was alot of boats anchored fishing Bay bridge pilings. More on the eastern shore side. You would think it be easy to catch one 19inch rock ? I guess not. Not good.
You gave it all you had and that's all you can do. Another day might be better!,,,,,,,,Gary
Hell of an effort and good report - thanks

Pat
We've had unusually cool weather lately, especially at night, so that may have things off kilter. But also, isn't this Mayworm season? Rock often get lockjaw around now since they're gorging on Mayworms. One trick I've heard is to troll slowly with tiny surgical hoses, but I've never tried that.
