Don't forget to use a resistor or your points will burn up in no time. The power from the switch should have a resistor in line which will save your points but will make it hard to start. Your starter should have an extra lug that supplies power to the coil when cranking only. So the + side of the coil should have two power wires going to it. If you have a newer starter solenoid designed for electronic ignition it may be missing this lug. In that case just put in spring loaded,normally off, single pole switch to power the coil upon startup.
