I just now telephoned the governor's office stating my objection to this legislative bill. Requested that he oppose the bill, and, if passed by the House of Delegates, that he veto the bill so as to retain the current make up of VMRC.

If, he gets several thousand such calls, maybe he will listen to us----call his office ASAP.

This is Important to All Recreational Anglers

I hope that everyone realizes what is at stake if this bill passes.

If we don't speak up now the VMRC will consist of 3 commercial watermen and enough others with vested interests in commercial fishing industries that they could easily block or defeat any vote that is not pro commercial fishing and pass every one that is pro commercial. That could easily mean less crabs in the Chesapeake Bay, more nets to deal with, more nets in more locations that you fish (IE Around the CBBT), etc.., etc.., etc..

Not sure what it will take to get this bill killed in committee or voted down, but I now there is power in our numbers. Everyone needs to realize the health of the Chesapeake Bay and Virginia's Tidal Rivers is up for a vote and there are hundreds of thousands recreational anglers and we can make a difference.

So please email and make phone calls this week and help protect Virginia's greatest resource-the fisheries of the Chesapeake Bay!!!!
