After looking at a number of pictures of the Rudee Fleet and their catch, what is the set-up they are using for trolling? Are they running daisy chains with an in-line weight? It is hard to tell from the pictures, but I am curious as to what is working for them, because what I have been dragging lately has not been getting the job done.

I've seen them using tandem parachute rigs of varying weights and deploying them @ staggered distances behind the boat. On Friday, I watched Fin Galley pull in a lot of fish on what looked like chartreuse umbrella rigs and some kind of chartreuse daisy chains.
I was catching fish right beside them on Mojos on the bottom in 26' of water and blue/chartruese Mann's Stretch 25's.
I know they all seem to use the "pacman" style parachutes, but the guys @ Ocean's East sold me the red-eye bullet shaped parachutes. They are less prone to fouling.
Hope some of this helps. Best thing is to fish often and keep trying different lures.
Good Luck. KW

Thanks for the replies. I agree with you on the shape of the mojo heads...I bought 2 from OE last year that had the head shaped like a fish and those darn things have a mind of their own and wander all over the place. I, too, have gone back to the bullet head mojos or the flat diamond shape that Swedes uses because of that.

This past Friday, I was working the Cape Henry area in the same water depth, but for a trailer was running some 6" chartreuse shad bodies. Troll speed matched what the charter boats were running ( around 3 knots ) but no sniffs on the rigs. I may go back to running Tomics on the trailers and maybe pick up some white chutes just to mix it up some. Being a weekend warrior, I try what I can but the weather has not been cooperative this year, so I have to defer to you guys for input.
