Al's Seafood right at Eastern Ave and I-695 (East Baltimore county) is advertising to get your sweetie a Dozen Red Steamed crabs (instead of roses) neatly wrapped in a brown paper bag. (They don't say the price in the ad) They are also advertising a complete dinner for 2 for $39 bucks.

(101.9 is where I heard it)

Try Richard's Seafod near Harford Community College OR Bill's Seafood in Perry Hall - both carry crabs year round and both sell high quality products for a fair price - and yes, you can call ahead and order.....

Roses are Red, Crabs are too - Hell..., I'd rather eat crabs than Roses!

(not to mention that crabs will probably be cheaper for Valentines day- LOL!)

I am going back a while I know but Cal Bitner's on Liberty Rd in Randallstown sold crabs and that is closer to Westminster. Good Luck.

Shoreline is ok most of the time, but the past two times we ordered from there we were pretty disappointed. The best crabs I have ever had in my life came from The Crab Shanty in Ellicott City. They are a little more expensive and a long drive from Crofton, But well worth it! Their seasoning is hands down "the best" but thay wont sell it. FYI, They sell a seasoning but it isn't what they use on their own crabs.

Buying crabs is for the most part hit and miss. You need to establish a relationship with your buyer. They can't always get the best crabs week after week but if you know them, they will tell you up front that they are not the best ones this week. If you tell him....I'll try some place else, then you are off the A list. The time of year and the time of the month also yields better crabs. Remember that this is not a product that the merchant makes and can not control consistancy and crabs are NEVER consistant. If you find a good reliable source for crabs.....stick with them because he wants good crabs as much as you do........but........Gary
