I need to bring back some fiberglass that baked for years in the Florida sun. I am looking to round up some gear to compound/polish the boat. I currently used a Craftsman buffer/sander but would like to move to the Porter Cable buffer or the Dewalt. The price difference is a good amount with the Dewalt being more expensive. The Porter Cable looks easier to handle. I am looking for opinions for the better of the two without cost as a factor. I do not want to make an unpleasant task harder than it already is. Any thoughts/tips are appreciated.
Thanks, Howard

the dewalt buffers are all we use with a back up stick it pad for velcro backed buffing pads. To get professional results you should keep the rpm at about 2200 rpm to fast wil burn the gelcoat and to slow will not heat the gelcoat up enough to open the pours of the fiberglass in order to restore gelcoat if you have any questions give me a call Joe Reichert Jr 4432267127 its not as easy as it sounds to do it properly
