Its an opportunity to run into people I have not seen in months.
It helps me keep my sanity because we can't get out on the water as often as during other times of the year.
Its nice to be able to check out the fishing equipment inventory of a large number of suppliers. We always find a number of things we can't leave without.
Its a chance to chat with and buy from the local shops who are normally there.
And in the case of one show, sample their pit beef sandwiches and a few oysters on the half shell. :clapping2::clapping2:

1. See what new gagets are available for fishermen.
2. See the products that are out there that my local shop does not carry.
3. Shop the flea markets for that equipment that still has some use and I will not mind leaving it on my boat all summer.
4. Pit beef sandwiches.
5. Buy the latest Lenny Rudow book and get him to autograph it. I understand he has a cookbook coming out this year.

It's something to do in the winter. About the time the shows start I'm already thinking about the spring Rockfish. Me and my buddys make a day of it starting with breakfist out and after the show dinner. It makes a for a good excuse to hang out with your friends.

To cropdust in the crowded aisle way.:hysterical:
Oh so that's YOU, eh?

I used to think it was just the smell of a thousand or so ******** crammed into a building meant for animals, but now the truth is out!

I go just to buy some bulk soft baits, look at the boats (which I WILL buy one of these days....my 93' Cajun is starting to get pretty tired), hang out with my fishing buddies and then eat and drink at Padonia Station after the Timonium show.

Since we're on the topic, can anyone list the upcoming shows? I heard that Upper Marlboro was cancelled, which I really enjoyed last year. I also went to the Solomons MSSA show, which is where I did my serious buying.

BTW, I go to spend a day with my kids and to get them excited about fishing. I also like talking to those who have been doing this for years and have lots to teach. Lastly, I go there to buy stuff like lures, books, etc.
