Nice photos!! I have a Nikon D50 and I have just started experimenting with slow shutter speeds on moving subjects, still trying to learn the best settings for photos like the one of the flying swans. Any history on the crosses in the marsh?

Thanks all!

Goose- I am a college student right now but I have been showing and selling my photographs at art shows and through my website. After I graduate this spring I will be shooting for a book called "wild delmarva" that will be published in the fall of 2010.

jhunt- I usually set my aperature to f18 or f22 depending on how bright it is, but you want to have a shutter speed slower than 1/30th of a second. When you are shooting your subject follow the movement with the camera, if done right this will keep the subject sharp and the background blurred. I dont know anything about the marsh crosses but I am planning on looking into it.

Beautiful pics. I spent the last 2 weeks of duck season down there and know those crosses well, hunt and fish the area alot. They were put up in honor of the 2 duck hunters (Easton boys) who drowned out in Flatland cove (the mouth of that creek) a couple yrs ago (Jan 2007 I think). Didnt know them personally, though my wifes nephew did. I remember the day, second to last weekend in Jan, cold and windy as heck out of the NW and they got caught in a cross wind pushed them further out into the Big A and it flipped their canoe. They were found a couple days later down near Janes Is I think. I do think about them everytime Im down there.
