I've contacted the Wounded Warrior Project a few weeks back and I'm planning on taking some soldiers striper fishing the week of Feb 1st I have not confirmed all the details yet but I left the week open due to weather conditions to hopefully be able to take these guys fishing. If anyone else wants to take some of these Hero's fishing let me know and I'll try to get more details in the coming days

Thanks

I would love to help but I am probably not a good fit for this. We have had good success this year but I only have a 21' Robalo and if any of the guys have special needs my boat may be too small. At the same time, I run Blackstone Airsoft. It is a playing field for airsoft skirmishes, ie: military simulation. We get a lot of younger guys and a good number of adults. I would like to have a game at our field and donate the proceeds to a charity like Wounded Warriors. Will you please email their contact info to [email protected]. If I can help let me know. If you need a mate I am a little inexperienced but will do the best I can. Thanks and Good Luck

I am one of the folks who set up "Hero On the Bay" (Now a registered 501C Non Profit organization) last fall and have contacts info for the "Wounded Warrior" units in the area and all the way up to Ft Dix NJ. I would be glad to assist you in making contact with the people in charge of these units. Its a bit difficult to coordinate but I have established contact with these director.

Give me a shout and I will assist you in any way.

I'm interested and can bring a mate. He's former Navy and I'm a former Jarhead.
Room for two warriors. Get me some dates so I can square it away with the missus. I'm for sure cleared to fish on Friday the 6th.
Boat is a 23' Walk Around with an enclosure, not enough room for a wheelchair or anything like that.

I'm a disabled vet too and would love to take a couple of our young troops for a day. Let me know if you can use me. I can provide a mate as well. Any day but the 2nd. (Wife's birthday)

23 Wellcraft Excel w/a cuddy with full curtains. If the weather is good a wheelchair can work but I'm not familiar with boating needs of the chairbound.

Guys:
The coordinator e-mailed me back and she has 18 Soliders that want to fish. I can
accommodate
3 so that leaves 15 that need a ride. My Plan is to fish Sun Feb 15th weather permitting. The coordinator is going to get them a hotel for Saurday the 14th so they will be here and ready to go on Sunday. Let me know if any of you guys can fish that day and how many you can accommodate. Any suggestions for hotel?

Thanks

Tim and I spoke yesterday about the WX...a North wind at 13-16kts = 15-18mph = a little snotty, especially with a full day (Sat.) of the same winds to build a substantial swell on top of snotty...My vote is to wait until late Thursday PM or early Friday AM and if the WX forecast hasn't changed then postpone until the following SAT/SUN...I know first hand Wounded Warriors are TOUGH with a capital T but seasick will lay anyone to their knees and AIN'T FUN neither...thoughts? As long as they cancel hotel reservations 24 hours in advance their shouldn't be any problems...if the coordinator gets any grief from the hotel let me know and I do what I can to straighten them out...I can be very persuasive LOL...
