Nothing like current conditions. Go to the following site.

http://tidesonline.nos.noaa.gov/

Click on state maps. . .

Click on Virginia

Click on CBBT and the current wind conditions will come up

Right now it is W at 19 gusting to 20. Fishing from a 20 to 22 foot or bigger boat in the lee of land and you would be OK. That being said you want to make sure that you have a good sand anchor with about 150 to 250 feet of line handy in case the motor breaks down and you start drifting out.

For forecasts I like weather underground and intellicast wind casts.

http://www.intellicast.com/IcastPag...dGrp=Forecasts&Product=WINDcast&ProdNav=d0_18

I like the latter because it shows you the wind contour lines. This gives me a better feel for the what ifs when they are off by 6 hours or 30 miles on the forecast.

Within a mile of the beach out of Rudee today it was 1-2 feet. And yes, you should regret not makin the trip. It was one of the best days I've seen this year. Many, many fish and lots over 40".
Sorry if that stings a little....but it was that good.:D

Thanks for the reports, beats not knowing. I am thinking about running down tomorrow but not sure about my crew. They keep talking about some football game that is on tomorrow night or something!
