Motor is a 99 Saltwater Series 250, 2 stroke. Yesterday while trolling for apprx. 1 hour my alarm sounded and the gauge was pointing towards the overheat. Pulled lines in, got a little water goin through the motor and the alarm stopped after 15-30 seconds. Ran to the nex spot, lines back out and same problem, took about an hour and a half this time though. Put motor in neutral and revved to about 2500 rpm and within seconds the alarm stopped. Only happened twice yesterday, but it has never happened in the past. I was thinking water pump but im unsure. Any help is appreciated guys.......

Like said, the water pump and T-stats are a good place to start. From the sound of having to rev the engine to get the temp down sounds more like a water pump job.:yes:
