From the campground you can launch into the Pax a bit upriver from Broomes Isl. You can motor down the Pax and out the mouth, and head north to the cliffs. Or you could trailer from the campground to Breezy for a shorter boat ride to the cliffs. There is great crabbing near the campground most of the time and often good fishing nearby also.

 

I 2nd the Patuxent campsites recommendation...Stayed there for the first time last year, and it is a nice facility, and close to lots of good adventures on the Patuxent....you dont even need to go into the bay for good fishing/crabbing.

Croakers at night, decent white perch over the shell bottoms all day...or get some handlines, and go up into a cove and catch crabs....lotsa fun for boys 10-14 years old.

If you are active/retired military you can stay at the Navy Recreation Center Solomons (NRC Solomons). It is just a couple of miles from the mouth of the bay on the Pax. Very nice campground, ramp and even transient slips.
