Went 30+ years w/out really doing any sweetwater fishing.
I mean, WHY when all the good fish crave salt?

But last few years, been revisiting some FW places.

Typically take a couple spinnerbaits, some knock off Walmart Mepps, few Beetlespins and a couple little paddle tails or twisters. Grabbed some Gulp minnows on the online advice of our resident wizened Angler Emeritus, and wedged my old @&& in a sit inside kayak.

Well, whatdoyaknow?

Figured I'll get it out of my system before pending FW license increase sends me back to tidal.

Yes, I AM that petty

Sissy fishing has been very very good recently. Had one of those days last week in the rain where you almost pinch yourself to make sure it's real. Had the LMB stacked in a feeder creek entering the lake that normally runs dry which the rain turned into a roaring little river, and the fish were on 4 spots that formed some break on the current hat I could hit in rotation while standing in the same spot, catching 2 or 3 from each one and rotating them out, so it was pretty much continued catching, jig, T-rig craw and spinnerbait did the damage, and I left them biting after about 2 hours or so. Went back the next day, and had to smile when I ended up with probably 20, with a few 3-5 lbs, and was thinking "man this really sucks compared to yesterday". Other than that the top water bite has also been very good. Saw a bunch of snakeheads too, but they weren't interested in anything I threw at them.

You funny. Catching a 4 to 5 pound LMB is still fun to me. My dad goes from flounder fishing then going down to the Severn run trout stocking. With a nightcrawler. And gets his 5 limit of rainbow trout. Its called fishing and that is what we do. Keep doing you and what makes you happy life is to short ***** about it. Good luck frogger

What can I say?

I'm an riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside a retarded enigma.

Even 50+ years ago, I LOVED catching big carp. And I HAVE been catching some LMB, etc lately. Just don't feel good about myself for doing it.

Although all these flounder pics have got me thinking

Mr. Andy, I read an article recently about anglers who only target very small fish. They called it micro fishing. There is a study going on about it. Researchers are trying to see how popular it really is.

There is a guy who I watch sometimes on YouTube that makes his living fishing ditches and creeks off side of the road. Catches small bream and bass

A big Bluegill on 2 lb ultra light rod is really fun. I used to do a lot of " sissy " fishing in local ponds. All were lost due to housing developments being built.

Don't let the FW license fee hold you back. The tackle / lures / bait is much cheaper than SW gear so you save in long run.

Yup, shell crackers on a fly rod is one of my favorite things to do. right now is the time. But what these numbnuts are doing is not going after species of fish that don't grow big, they are attempting to catch the smallest fish they can, and don't get me started on BFS...
Next year my fresh water license will be $5, and I am conflicted about that...
