The cownose rays usually come into the bay around end of May / early June.

I dive near Annapolis and never really see them as water is dirty and only can see a few inches most times.

We do see them when they are on surface when running the boat though.

The guys who crab will likely know more as they tend to be in shallow water that the rays like to go into to mate.

Often 2-3 males will chase a female around - throwing water up into air and splashing. Easy to spot them.

Not sure what area you are near but Sharps Island lighthouse near Choptank river mouth often has rays near it.

yeah I ususaly shoot 200 to 300 a year with the bow just wondering if anyone has started seeing any yet... I usually post on the Virginia fisherman or Chesapeake but it seems to piss a lot of people off that we shoot them lol

Why would you brag about killing 200 to 300 rays a year?...are you eating them?...completely unacceptable behavior, legal or not...you are building a lot of bad karma...there are consequences for this behavior,, I remember back in the 80's we used to be able to catch flounder 2 at a time like croaker using a standard bottom rig. People were loading their coolers to the top with them because it was legal, now you are lucky to catch a few on any given trip...the examples go on and on...
