I’m thinking of staying in a semi-ready state, and here’s why:
This is my third full season back on the bay but my first on the South River. The first two years on the Magothy I never fully experienced the whole fall thing. In fact, I was underwhelmed by fall; so much so, I burned up all my vacation this year with our regard to fall. I won't make that mistake again!
Moving only two creeks down the bay, to the South river changed all that. We’ve been doing quite well this fall, and with an exposed CC, I’m milking it for all its worth.
When I can’t stand it anymore on account of the weather, I plan on leaving the batteries in and on the solar trickle charger, removing the head, removing the cushions, yanking the electronics, getting antifreeze in the washdown and live well pump lines, and fogging the engine. That way, if I get a hankering for some late winter lower Potomac trophy blue cat action, I can just hook up and go. I’ll re-yank the electronics and play re-fogging by ear.
