I've personaly never seen the fall big-un's this far north in sutch good numbers. With the 10 day calling for temps in the uper 40's to 50's, could we expect to cotinue this great trolling for a couple more weeks?

I am thinking we will be good through the 15th. We are going to have a cold spell coming where daytime temps will be in the 40's and night time in the 30's. That will drop the bay temperature quickly. My experience is the fishing is pretty good until the water hits 42* and then it starts to decline.

I’m thinking of staying in a semi-ready state, and here’s why:

This is my third full season back on the bay but my first on the South River. The first two years on the Magothy I never fully experienced the whole fall thing. In fact, I was underwhelmed by fall; so much so, I burned up all my vacation this year with our regard to fall. I won't make that mistake again!

Moving only two creeks down the bay, to the South river changed all that. We’ve been doing quite well this fall, and with an exposed CC, I’m milking it for all its worth.

When I can’t stand it anymore on account of the weather, I plan on leaving the batteries in and on the solar trickle charger, removing the head, removing the cushions, yanking the electronics, getting antifreeze in the washdown and live well pump lines, and fogging the engine. That way, if I get a hankering for some late winter lower Potomac trophy blue cat action, I can just hook up and go. I’ll re-yank the electronics and play re-fogging by ear.
